Schedule Update – effective 1/3/20
We are currently holding Bible Study Classes, meeting on Sundays at 9:30 a.m., as follows:
- Adults: All adults are meeting in a single combined class in the auditorium, where we have enough room to spread out in keeping with current public health recommendations. In August 2020, we started a textual study and discussion going through the books of 1 and 2 Corinthians, though some weeks may feature different limited topics when we have substitute teachers.
- Jr. Hi/High School/College: The older youth and younger adults are meeting together, studying various topics of interest. (TEACHERS NEEDED: Please contact the Office or one of the Elders if you have an interest in assisting with this class.)
- Elementary and Pre-school: Classes are available for younger children, divided by age groups.
Sundays, 10:30 a.m. – AUDITORIUM WORSHIP SERVICES
We are holding Sunday morning worship services in the auditorium at our regular time of 10:30 a.m. Due to on-going public health concerns, we have made the following alterations to our usual practices:
- We will have areas of the auditorium blocked off to keep seating spaced out between family groups.
- We will have hand sanitizer stations and attendants set up at all entrances.
- Instead of passing the bread and cup for communion, we will have individual communion servings available as worshippers enter the auditorium.
- Instead of passing the collection plate, we will have contribution buckets set up in the lobby or at the entrances of the building.
Wednesdays, 6:00 p.m. – FELLOWSHIP MEAL AND DEVOTIONAL
From 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday evenings in the fellowship hall, we will be sharing a light fellowship meal (sandwiches, tacos, pizza, etc.), followed by a short devotional/discussion class.
- Social distancing between family groups and wearing of masks when possible is still strongly encouraged even during the Wednesday evening fellowship/devotional, but these precautions will be more difficult due to the more relaxed format and location in the fellowship hall. Those who attend on Wednesday evenings should be aware of this risk, take what precautions they can, and especially respect the caution of others in attendance.
COVID-19 WARNINGS
Due to the nature of congregational worship activities (especially group singing), it is strongly recommended that all those in attendance wear masks, and masks will be available for those who do not have their own.
Those with suppressed immune systems, a history of respiratory conditions, or other high-risk individuals should be especially careful and consider the risks when deciding whether or how to participate. As an alternative for those who do not feel safe participating in group indoor activities, we will have services broadcast on short-range radio (88.3 FM) so that they can be heard through car radios in the parking lot. We will also continue to livestream and post the services on the congregation’s Facebook page.
Those who have had a diagnosis or symptoms (fever, coughing, shortness of breath, fatigue) of COVID-19 of themselves or anyone in their household or with whom they have come into contact in the last two weeks are requested to keep their distance or participate remotely out of consideration for others.
Attendees are requested to maintain social distancing (at least six feet between family groups) and avoid lengthy congregating in the auditorium or elsewhere in the building before or after services.
Alternative Study, Worship, and Service Options – We encourage our members and all Christians to look for new ways to practice and grow our faith during this time of separation. Increase your personal or family Bible reading and study, hold family worship times together in your homes, look for pre-recorded sermons (including the ones available on our own website) or virtual group study and worship options on-line, and call, text, e-mail, or send notes of encouragement to others. Most of all, pray for the Church and the World that more will turn to God and grow closer to Him through this difficult time. “And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people.” (Eph. 6:18, NIV)
Contributions and Donations – We are continuing to financially support our various ministry commitments during this time. Please try to maintain your regular contributions and, if possible, give a little extra to help sustain the Church and other ministries through this time. A contribution bucket will be set up in the lobby on Sunday mornings, or you can send contributions to the Church Offices.
The Church Offices will remain open during regular business hours. Contact the office or one of the Elders if you have any questions or needs.
